Our hearts
If you see your enemy hungry, go buy him lunch; if he’s thirsty, bring him a drink. Your generosity will surprise him with goodness, and God will look after you.
Proverbs 25:21 MSG
They may not be our enemy but we love when we meet a new person on the street and they are surprised by the goodness of God. With the weather being so nice these last 2 weeks we have had the privilege of meeting some new people. I absolutely love when we pull up next to them and ask if they would like a free lunch bag. The look of initial trepidation on their faces that transitions to joy when we ask if we could pray with them is priceless! Father make a way for us to continue meeting new people, people that are surprised by joy, joy in realizing that you are seeking them out, that you never forsake them, that you love them. We also give thanks for your ongoing work in the lives of those we know and love. We thank you for the people that are starting to call us every week to see if we are coming by. For the people who call just to say thanks or ask for prayer for a difficult situation they are going through.
I was in terrible trouble when I called out to you, but from your temple you heard me and answered my prayer. 2 Sam. 22:7 CEV
We are singing and shouting our praises to God for answered prayer. Last week we saw one of our lady friends and she was very distraught. Her son wanted to come see her and he was angry and violent. She asked us to pray for her strength to deal with him. So we honored her request and petitioned the Lord for a way out of the situation and to protect her. Our heavenly Father turned that young man around and sent him home without visiting his mother! She hasn’t seen or heard from him since last week when he called and told her he was tired of driving around and decided to go home.
The Easter baskets are starting to come in to the ministry and we are rejoicing in your gifts. Because of your generosity we will be passing out these baskets and sharing the gospel with so many people that do not know the Lord or even understand the true meaning of why we celebrate Easter. Please pray for us as we prepare to boldly speak into the lives of those we know and love about the death and resurrection, of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
You are like a letter (an Easter Basket) written by Christ and delivered by us. But you are not written with pen and ink or on tablets made of stone. You are written in our hearts by the Spirit of the living God. 2 Cor. 3:3 CEV (parenthesis is added by me)
Love,
