Deliver us - update
But God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. Ps. 66:19
The poor will see and be glad—you who seek God, may your hearts live! The LORD hears the needy and does not despise his captive people. Ps. 69:32,33
The Lord heard the prayers offered up for our friend!!!! I talked to Judy today (she gave me permission to use her name), Praise the Lord!! It was a sleepless night last night as I prayed for her safety. I kept releasing her to Jesus and then taking the burden back, praying for her sobriety, praying for a release from my fears that she had fallen back in the clutches of the evil one. Where was my trust? Father forgive me for doubting you. But I also thank you that so many that read the email responded with prayers for Judy.
I called Judy this afternoon and did not receive an answer. Immediately my faith took a plunge thinking she was ignoring me because she reverted back to her old ways. About a ½ hour later my phone rings and it’s a cheerful Judy calling to see what I wanted. I told her that we were concerned for her after she told me to get out of her driveway. She started laughing and said, “Oh no, I’m so sorry I didn’t realize it was you who had called me last night. No wonder “M” thinks I’m crazy. She called me this morning and I told to never call me again and that I didn’t appreciate her pulling into my driveway last night. Well “M” told me that I was nuts and it wasn’t her in my drive. Now you call and tell me it was you in the drive and I would never tell you to go away.”
Thank you, thank you Jesus that it was just a misunderstanding and Judy is still walking the path you’ve laid out before her. A lot has been going on in Judy’s life in the last 2 weeks. They cut off her heat, electric, and water. When she contacted the utilities they told her that her landlord owed thousands to them for her home and others that he owns in the city. Well, that set her up for her son’s offer to stay with him. So she packed up some of her stuff and went to his house thankfully that lasted only one evening. She said she couldn’t stay there because he invited a bunch of his drugging, drinking buddies into the house. She then told me that she prayed and asked for strength to go back to her cold home and not be tempted to fall back into her old ways. She had been staying at her unheated home for a few days when “M” stopped by. She used to deal drugs with “M” and it scared her that her past was knocking on her door. She told “M” to leave but then “M” started calling her everyday and stopping by. So Judy started asking some neighbors if she could spend a few hours at their homes so she could warm up and hopefully get away from “M”. That’s where things stood when we pulled in her driveway and called her. Judy said she answered the phone not knowing who was calling but she could see the headlights in her drive from the neighbors and just assumed it was “M” trying to drag her down again. We laughed and cried and rejoiced that everything was a simple misunderstanding and we prayed and gave God the glory for keeping her strong.
Judy asked that I thank everyone for the prayers and to keep praying that she keeps her sights set on the Lord, the only one that can see her through all these trials.
Love, Donna
