Celebrating Cindy
For this son (daughter) of mine was dead and is alive again; he (she) was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate. Luke 15:24 (italics mine)
Celebrate! Cindy turns 7 on Feb. 21st. In so many ways this dear sister-in-the-Lord is really only 7 years old. Her joy in seeing and learning things just as a child does is a blessing to all those who know her. I thank God for the opportunities to share in her adventures. Every time I see a trash can in the city I think of Cindy. We have now nicknamed all city trash can’s as “Hallelujah Trash Cans”. City trash cans are unique in that if you open the lid it looks like arms pointing to the heavens and one evening Cindy thought one of those trash cans was a person standing on the corner praising the Lord!!
There are so many stories about the adventures of New life in Cindy. She once asked me if I knew why Jesus words in the Bible were written in red. I honestly didn’t have a good answer for her so she told me it’s because it represents the Blood of Jesus. Wow! I never looked at it that way.
If you ever get tired of seeing the world through adult boring eyes invite Cindy to a park, or the zoo or anywhere for that matter and she will open your eyes again to the beauty of God’s creation. She is such a miracle and she is telling everyone that she will be celebrating 7 years clean this month. The Lord has blessed her with the opportunity to share her story and thereby blessing everyone with the miracles our heavenly Father still performs to this day!!
If you would like to send a card to Cindy and let her know how much you love her and wish to celebrate this miracle with her, here is her address:

We thank God for the miracles he is yet to perform in the lives of the people we meet weekly out on the streets. Thank you Father that you seek out those of us who are lost and hurting. You wrap us in your loving arms and give us the desires of our heart when we acknowledge the gift of your son Jesus.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. Ps. 143:10
You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” Rev. 4:11
Love,
Donna
